About Sniffout

Sniffout is a walk planning app built for dog owners across the UK. It gives you walks, weather, and the local knowledge you actually need - all in one place, all built around one question: is this a good walk for your dog today?

What you get

Find dog walks across the UK. A curated and growing list of routes, parks, and countryside walks - with off-lead detail, terrain type, and distance, not a generic map that was not made for dogs.

Discover dog-friendly places nearby. Cafes, pubs, parks, water sources, and vets around your location. Useful before a walk, more useful mid-walk when you need somewhere to stop.

Plan around the weather. Live conditions, seasonal hazard alerts, and an honest verdict on whether today is a good day to take the dog out. Not a forecast with a cloud icon - a walk forecast, built around what dogs actually need.

Keep a walk journal. Log every outing, track activity over time, and build a record of the routes you love.

Personalise it for your dog. Add a breed, size, and age, and Sniffout adjusts its recommendations accordingly. A Greyhound and a Shar Pei do not need the same walk.

Your data stays on your phone. Everything you add - walks logged, your dog’s profile, your saved places - is stored on your device.

The story

Sniffout was built by Jayesh, a dog owner from Kingston upon Thames. The inspiration was Luna, his bearcoat Shar Pei. Bearcoat Shar Peis are extraordinary-looking dogs - and in warm weather, they need careful attention. Jayesh wanted an app that would give him a real opinion on whether to take Luna out, not just a temperature with a sun icon next to it. That question became Sniffout.

Sniffout is still growing. The plan is for it to become the place UK dog owners go first when planning any walk - curated routes, local knowledge, and weather intelligence that is actually useful for dogs. Luna approves so far.
