Dog walks in Hertfordshire
Dog-friendly walks in Hertfordshire including ancient woodland and bluebell displays.
Ashridge Estate in the Chiltern Hills is the anchor for dog walks in Hertfordshire: 2,000 hectares of ancient beech woodland, largely off-lead, managed by the National Trust. The bluebell display in mid-April and early May draws a lot of visitors; the rest of the year is quieter. Dogs need to be on leads in Dockey Wood during bluebell season and near the sheep on Ivinghoe Hills year-round.
