Dog walks in Shropshire
Dog-friendly walks in Shropshire and the Welsh Marches, from the quartzite ridge at Stiperstones to Carding Mill Valley, Wenlock Edge, and the Clent Hills on the Worcestershire border.
The Devil’s Chair on the Stiperstones ridge is one of the most atmospheric landmarks in England: a quartzite outcrop above ancient heathland, wind-exposed and remote. Shropshire dog walks occupy a part of England that serious dog walkers largely have to themselves. The Long Mynd runs a plateau above Church Stretton with a stream through Carding Mill Valley below. Wenlock Edge is limestone woodland. The Clent Hills bring the same quality to the Birmingham edge.
